We are a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers, this means that any donations we receive from members of the public or invested through our bond scheme is used to buy quota.
Meet Some Of Our Funders
The following are some past and or present funders that have backed projects to support the Duchy Fish Quota Company work.
The European Fisheries Fund (EFF) provides funding to the fishing industry and coastal communities to help them adapt to changing conditions in the sector and become economically resilient and ecologically sustainable.
The Cornwall and Isles of Scilly Fisheries Local Action Group (FLAG) is a pot of £1.3m European Fisheries Fund Axis 4 (EEF) money allocated to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly to invest in the sustainable development of fisheries communities. FLAG also refers to the boards that makes the funding decisions which is made up of representatives from the fishing community, private sector, public sector and voluntary and community sector. The boards is supported by officers from statutory organisations such as Natural England and the Inshore Fisheries Conservation Authority (IFCA).
The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) licence, regulate and plan marine activities in the seas around England and Wales so that they’re carried out in a sustainable way. MMO is an executive non-departmental public body, sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs.
